Once more, the New England Patriots showed up their dominance in the field. This time was the New York Jets who faced one of the most fascinating team in this 2007 NFL season.
Yesterday the weather didn’t help much to any player, they had to faced strong rain, wind, cold and chilli gusts of over 20 mph. but this didn’t stop the Patriots on their run to be the unbeaten team of the year.
Instead of Tom Brady’s passing yards, the game score was focus on how far Laurence Maroney’s rushing passes could go. The Pats beat the Jets 20-10 getting a big advantage throughout the AFC playoffs.
For the first time in this 2007 season, Brady didn’t toss a touchdown and threw a total of 140 yards. Unfortunately this wasn’t a game where the offense did much, and the surprise came after Brady was compared to Matt Cassel instead of magnificent Brady.
The story for New York wasn’t that lucky cause even though Richard Seymour, Brad Smith and Chad Pennington played in separate times, they didn’t made any difference and once more, this is a strong reason why the Jets needs to focus in the off-season to come with better scores and well-improved plays to the team.
This has been a controversial 2007 NFL season; lots of good things happened but other sad stories will mark this ending chapter. Definitely this has been the greatest year for the Patriots who right now are the second team in the NFL history who has a record of 14-0.
Of course, at the same time we have seeing how great New England is, they have also showed that nothing is a 100% perfect and sometimes they showed how vulnerable and weak they can be at any moment. Especially when they faced the Philadelphia Eagles, we all thought that this would be their first defeat.
Gradually they have learned from all the experiences of this amazing year and I’m sure they will refine those critical spots to use them in their favor.
