Tonight is going to be a great night for all the College Football and NFL fans. Today starts the 2007 NCAA Bowls and also the Pittsburgh Steelers will face the ST. Louis Rams.

Lots of expectations and enthusiasm round the football community, because this NFL game will define who has the opportunity to fight for the divisional title. In this case the Steelers are looking forward for the possibility of winning the AFC North title.

This 2007 NFL season, has been really difficult for the Steelers who at this point are 9-5. Last Sunday they lost 29-22 at home to the Jacksonville Jaguars, also they were defeated by the unbeaten New England Patriots 34-13 just a week before.

We all know that the Steelers are on top of the league’s defense, but they haven’t showed that potential in their conquest to playoffs. Right now Pittsburgh dropped down into a tie with the Cleveland Browns, which is not good for a team like them.

Let’s remember that on week fourteen, the Steelers faced the New England Patriots and the big concern about this matchup was: if the Patriots could hold the Steelers big defense. We all definitely though that this would be the Patriots’ first defeat..

The Steelers gave New England a really hard time; there were situations where we saw that Pittsburgh was controlling the ball and also limiting their contenders from achieving any progress at all.

For this Thursday night game, there are some important injuries that will limit their improvement in the field. Sidelined due to injuries are: Aaron Smith, Travis Kirschke, Marvel Smith and Clark Haggans. Guys be aware of this!!!

About the ST. Louis Rams, there’s not much to say. They haven’t made a very active participation this season.

ST. Louis is ranked 27th in the NFL scoring defense, they allowed an average of 24.9 points per game which is definitely not good.

Last time the Steelers and the Rams met, was on Oct. 26, 2003 and the Rams defeated Pittsburgh 33-21. Can something similar happen on tonight’s game?

So go on Team…
