Once again the San Antonio Spurs dropped down in front of their opponents and this time was in front of the Cleveland Cavaliers, where the final score was 90-88 Cavs up!
This was a challenge for the Cavaliers because they were swept by the Spurs last season in the NBA finals. So this was a relief for the Cavaliers after all.
This was a very difficult NBA matchup for both teams, with few seconds remaining Manu Ginobili shot the ball looking for a tie in the final score and missed the play. While this was happening, the Cleveland players, especially LeBron James were hoping the Spurs to miss the shot and it happened.
The Cavs team got really good shots and many points as for example: LeBron James scored 27 points, Zydrunas Ilgauskas added 17 points to the score and also Anderson Varejao scored 12 points plus 14 rebounds. It was a great night for them.
By halftime the Cavaliers were leading with a score of 50-43, this gave them strength to continue and by the end of the third quarter they were 8 points above the San Antonio Spurs 73-65. Of course we can see that since the very beginning the game was all in the Cavs hands.
But I don’t want to underestimate San Antonio’s improvement. They made a lot of good plays and did big efforts to maintain their team up, but this wasn’t enough this time.
The stars of the Spurs shined as usual; even though they didn’t win they did a good job. Manu Ginobili for example added 31 points, Tony Parker scored just 23 points because he missed two free throws that would help to tie the game at 90 and of course one of the best players: Tim Duncan who scored 20 points and had a total of 11 rebounds.
Remember the roller coaster? Well a thing that San Antonio hasn’t turn on the car yet to ride and look for their time to be on top. I think they need to wake up now and start playing looking for another victory, showing us why they are the NBA Champions.
They most take care of their image as a glorious team and try to maintain it the way it should be.
Good luck for next time San Antonio and Congratulations to the Cavaliers for an excellent improvement on their plays.
