With a temperature of minus 3 and a wind of minus 24 degrees, the New York Giants made one of the best games for the 2007 NFL season giving them the opportunity of being the contenders of the greatest NFL finals: the Super Bowl LXII.

The game was seem to finished on a tie, but suddenly in the overtime Lawrence Tynes came through with a 47 yard field goal to assure the Giants a spot in the Super Bowl.

I must be sincere and say that I could hope any other team to be the contender for the Super Bowl but the Giants. With 13-6 this regular season, they seem to be weak and their low profile showed them as a non probable contender.

….But as I said in previous articles this has definitely been one of the NFL seasons with a lot of surprising situations….

The weather conditions helped the Giants to defeat the Green Bay Packers; Brett Favre was almost dying out there and they used this to their favor. Of course there were a lot of mistakes that put them in the brink, but their consistency helped them to stand up as soon as they were in trouble.

This is a moment for Eli Manning, the youngest of the “Manning Clan” who did an excellent job in the field. Manning drove the Giants 71 yards in 14 plays; he went 5-8 for 55 yards. Well done for this kid!

Another one that did a really good job was Plaxico Burress with a career high of eleven catches for a total of 154 yards. But also Tynes with the unforgetable 29 yard field goal, also with 14 plays for 65 yards.

Now the challenge comes for the Giants when they face the unbeaten, the greatest, and the glorious New England Patriots. They ended an historical season 18-0, for one of the best league’s seasons since 1972, when the Miami Dolphins went 17-0.

Of course I won’t disregard the Giants work who on December 29, led for several minutes the game against the Pats leading them by twelve points in the third quarter.

My best whishes for both teams as the Super Bowl is already here and one of them must fail to have a new NFL champion.
