Finally Los Angeles Lakers snapped a season high three game loosing streak. Part of this victory over the New York Knicks was thanks to the good and intelligent ways of Sasha Vujacic to play last night.
Who’s Vujacic? Sasha is a 23 year old guard of the Lakers, native from Slovenia who leaded yesterday night to a great victory by scoring twelve of his twenty points in the fourth quarter and also made a pair of three pointers for a final score of 120-109 L.A up.
But of course there were other players that added good action to this final score, such us Lamar Odom who scored 22 points and twelve rebounds, brilliant Kobe Bryant added 24 points, eleven rebounds and a total of eight assists and Derek Fisher scored 17 points too.
But here the highlighted NBA player of the night with no doubt was Vujacic who helped the team to get to the right track to defeat the Knicks for more than ten points.
Many commentaries of Sasha’s teammates came after the game. Many of them agreed that Sasha has some trouble when shooting, but they know when he does this right it’s a secure good point for the team.
Also Kobe added that “He’s continued to work hard. He’s been diligent at it and he is sure that his time has come.”
Let’s get to know this emerging player by doing a brief resume of him.
Sasha started playing Basketball when he was 16 years old getting a lot of support from his father Vaso Vujacic who was a Serbian basketball coach. He played for a basketball team of Italy called Snaidero Udine.
As I already mentioned he is native from Slovenia and he was part of the Slovenian Junior National Team where he learned many things that are helping him to improve in his career.
In 2004, he was a first round draft pick for Los Angeles Lakers with an average of 6.5 points in 32 games and an average of 3.6 points per game.
Since Sasha started with the Lakers, he showed lots of talent and also that he can go really far if he wants to. I think this is his show time and he’s doing his entire job pretty good.
As he said: “My moment has arrived here with the Lakers. Unfortunately, it’s because of injuries.”
Hey Vujacic doesn’t worry about this kind of things, get advantage to this and that way you won’t show how good you are just because of injuries.
