The case against Roger Clemens about the use of Performance Enhancing Drugs is getting worse everyday, at this point is not only the Justice Department the one that has to prove if he’s guilty or not but also the FBI will investigate if he lied to the Congress under oath.
With the FBI involved on this case, the situation for the star pitcher Clemens is getting complex due to all the facts that can emerge from such investigations. I’m not saying that he lied but there might be few things that can condemn Clemens.
Now my question about this situation is: Why did the Justice Dept. need the FBI’s intervention? Is there something else that we (the audience) don’t know?
As Justice Department they should be the ones that get solve all this without involving any other organisms. Many things can happen having many hands working on the same case… especially when is regarding legal problems.
The Federal Authorities are pointing the case on Clemens lies. “Clemens will face heavy charges more for what he said than what he might have done” This is a crude reality for the seven time CY Young Award winner.
The FBI will be in charge of proving all the clues on false statements, perjury and obstruction of justice. So far we can see that this alternate case against Clemens, is taking away all the possibilities for him to get out of the situation without spend some time in jail.
You might be thinking about what kind of condemn will Clemens face if the FBI proves that he did lied to the Congress Authorities?
Well, it will depend on the decisions that the Justice Dept. makes when time comes. For example the winner of five medals in the 2000 Olympics who’s last name is Jones, was sentenced in January 2008 to six months in jail for the similar case Clemens is confronting now: lying.
Hundreds of situations can emerge after this decision was made, there’s nothing else to do or to say than just wait for the final statement.
Life is rude sometimes… but sometimes we are the producers of our own disasters…
