Doubtfully Becket will start

The 2008 MLB season is about to start and with it the setbacks started too.

There are many probabilities that Josh Beckett won’t be on time for the first two regular season games of the Boston Red Sox.

Beckett made a great record last year with a total of 20 wins when he was pitching. This 2008 season he has to pitch in an exhibition regular game but the illness that is affecting his back will keep him out of doing this.

The problem here is that the Red Sox has two games in Tokyo before they face the Oakland Athletics in March 25, 26. Due to the tedious and long flight to Japan the authorities of this MLB team are considering on not to send Beckett to Japan.

Also being sitting for so long can cause pain and many other pathologists on his back causing a serious damage forcing this brilliant pitcher to be out of the field for so long.

Beckett’s problems started when he felt some spasms on his back while he was trying to go through his first warm-up pitch in the matchup against the Florida Marlins. He went to the doctor and some of the tests practiced to his back, showed that the injury was in a muscular level.

Is well known that due to this injury this MLB pitcher will need to rest, another situation that is obstructing Josh possibilities of flying to Japan is that his wife will give birth on March 19, and he wants of course to be on his baby birth.

The decision hasn’t been taken yet on whether Josh’s fly to Japan. But the R-Sox team has an ace under the table instead of Beckett they will put Daisuke Matsuzaka, who is a really good player too.

There are also another two replacements for Beckett, Tim Wakefield and Jon Lester. The feature is uncertain at this point but all the hopes are that Beckett can get better from his injury and that he can start playing as it is supposed.
