This is the first home loss of the San Antonio Spurs in this 2007 NBA season. The Phoenix Suns won 100-95; five points of difference marked a disappointing line in the Spurs early season.
The worst part of this comes when we think on the Spurs and know how good they are, they’re not a common team, they were the 2006 NBA champions and also the 2007 defending NBA champions.
Of course this was a great game and a great win for the Phoenix Suns, this is a positive event that will give them more strength to continue a flawless fight this season and make good scores for the playoffs.
The show of the night was captured by Grant Hill, who scored 22 points and also guard Leandro Barbosa added eighteen points in a game that was really close untill the end.
At the same time, we all saw that San Antonio was giving the Suns a hard time during the game but it wasn’t enough. Tim Duncan scored a season high 36 points and made 17 rebounds, but his efforts and great performance didn’t changed the fatal final score.
Let’s remember that this is Duncan’s second game, after being sidelined due to a sprained ankle along with great Tony Parker who remained out of the field.
This game was finally a kind of revenge for the Phoenix Suns, as the Spurs eliminated them in six games in their quest to the NBA title and finally they showed up, how good they can be.
I think that San Antonio needs to be more jealous at this point, they have been doing a great job but I think they are on a position where they think they are invincible and they’re not…
This is their third straight loss but this is not all, they have now a record of 13-1 at home after this embarrassing lost. If they don’t stop this bad situation, they won’t make it to the finals.
