The New York Mets are passing through one of the most complicated situations before the 2008 MLB regular season starts.
They have lost almost their complete MLB team due to injuries. This is something devastating for them because the hunt for replacements won’t be easy and they are running out of time.
It’s amazing how they have many sidelined players with injuries that weren’t provoke in the field, for example their left fielder Moises Alou will be out until May due to hernia surgery.
And the list can be even bigger; I think this is an alarming situation for a team that had little time to organize their strategies for the upcoming season.
Of course they are working already trying to fix all the damages that are debilitating their possibilities of making a good job in the field when the time comes.
At this point they have many targets, the Mets authorities think that Alou can be replace by some of this combinations: “Endy Chavez, Marlon Anderson, Damion Easley and Angel Pagan” … sounds good and viable…
I hope that New York can get great benefits of all the additions they are force to do right now. They need to be patient but faster to get the ones that best fit with the profile of the players they are looking for.
They missed the opportunity of having a good player like Marcus Thames, even though they had many meetings with this MLB player during the winter, the possibilities of having him failed after the Tigers General Manager Dombrowski said that Thames wasn’t available due to the importance that he represents in this MLB team.
But there’s still another good acquisition for the Mets Xavier Nady, they traded him on 2006 to the Pittsburgh Pirates for reliever Roberto Hernandez and left hander Oliver Perez. He could be a really good key to success.
Hurry you guys there’s not much time… but be aware to make the right decisions too…
