The Boston Celtics ended the winning streak of the Houston Rockets yesterday night, with a final score of 94-74.
The last time the Rockets suffered a defeat was on Jan 27 against Utah Jazz, with a final score of 97-89. The Rockets remarkable way to play puts them in the second longest winning streak ending eleven victories away from Los Angeles Lakers that made a 33 winning streak.
Kevin Garnett scored 22 points while Paul Price added 20 points. This duo took the control of the game in the third quarter.
All the situations that were taking place in the field were combined to stop the Rockets even though they made a big effort. For example the Rockets missed eight of their ten shots and at the same time they stopped getting the rebounds that are their key to success.
The Rockets tried to become more and more aggressive every minute of the game but the energy shown by Garnett and Pierce was more powerful to defeat their anger.
This 2008 NBA season has been full of many contrasting situations. The NBA champion, the San Antonio Spurs has lost many games and also loss many of the confidence the fans has on them.
Another factor that has made of this season really different is for example the trade of Sahquille O’Neal from Miami Heat to the Phoenix Suns. Or what can we say about Kobe Bryant’s decision on being traded when the season just started and that after seeing his team getting up he decided to stay with the Lakers.
Let’s wait and see what other surprises this season will bring to all of its fans.
