What a great start has bring this 2009 MLB season for Miguel Cabrera, who was named by the MLB community as the fourth richest player in the National Baseball League.
The Detroit Tigers traded Cabrera for $152.3 million, eight year contract. From the very beginning the Tigers team knew that in order for them to keep Pitcher Cabrera on their side the price will be really high.
This source was taken from a person that knows everything about the situation between the Tigers and the final destiny of Mr. Cabrera. This person also said that the deal will be final after this third baseman MLB player pass through a rigorous physical test.
Practically that deal is done, I don’t think that the physical test that will be practice to Miguel has something especial to determine if Cabrera is apt for the position in the team.
Some of the records that this great MLB pitcher has made trough the seasons are: an average of 32 homers and 115 RBIs becoming the only player whose averages match at least in three categories.
During the winter time, the Tigers decided to acquire Miguel from the Florida Marlins along with Dontrelle Williams.
Thanks to this great deal with Detroit, Cabrera will earn $15 million by the end of the 2009 MLB season, amount of money that definitely sounds tempter for every one out there.
The Tigers’ goal by contracting Cabrera is to make as much history as possible in the MLB; they are walking with the thoughts of winning till the end, with no limits at all.
As Gary Sheffield said: “It says we’re trying to win right now but in the future also. He’s a future-type player. Any time you can get a player for that amount of years on this team, you’re looking at multiple championships.”
