Incredible but true, a rookie NBA player led the Houston Rockets to find a spot in the upcoming playoff games by wining 105-79 over Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday night.
This was the Rockets third straight victory ranking fifth in the Western Conference. But as we all know everything can happen in the West.
As I previously told you, a rookie player led the team to a flawless victory and his name is Aaron Brooks who scored eighteen points.
Brooks is a 23 year old NBA player who was born is Seattle, Washington. To be drafted in 2007 by the Houston Rockets.
He first played basketball at the University of Oregon where he finished with 13.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game differencing him over all his teammates for future NBA drafts.
Aaron was born with the profile of an NBA player and thanks to this he has made many records during his career, for example once he scored a team high 31 points and grabbed eight rebounds in an overtime road winning over one of the best college basketball teams: Washington State.
In 2004 Brooks won the All-Pac-10 Freshman Team, a year after he won the Honorable Mention All-Pac-10 Team but in 2007 he broke up all the records and won many titles due to his brilliant way to play in the field.
Some of the awards he received in 2007 were: NCAA 3-Point-Shootout Champion, John Wooden All-American Team, AP All-American (First Team) to mention a few of them.
This is definitely one of the best acquirement the Rockets have made. We all thought that without Yao-Ming, the Rockets will fall into the shadows but the story is different now.
Here are some comments of Brook’s teammates:
“We’ve run the gamut of emotions this year,” Shane Battier said. “We’re very, very happy to have clinched. We need to build momentum and feel good about ourselves before the playoffs start.”
“The day Yao-Ming went down, everybody counted us out,”
