The MLB season just started and things seem to be a bit complicated for the Atlanta Braves because their pitcher John Smoltz’s shoulder injury is not getting better even though doctors have worked really hard on it.
He was recently checked by a doctor who determined that he has a severely inflamed biceps and to add even more difficulty to his situation his rotator cuff is also inflamed causing a tremendous pain on his right shoulder.
Due to this injury Smoltz has been sidelined for 15 days and the doctor’s predictions are not really positive at this point. They have said that in order for him to get over this problem surgery is required to restore the damage.
Smoltz’s doctor named James Andrews got to this conclusion after he injected the painful area and prescribed rest and the inflammation didn’t disappeared from the MLB pitcher after fifteen days.
The starting pitcher of the Braves will doubtfully play in the next month due to the low progress of his problem which means that Atlanta needs to start creating new strategies to continue with the battle of the regular MLB season as it should.
Smoltz averages 3-1 with a 0.78 ERA in his four stars giving a good advantage to the Braves over their contenders.
He became the sixteenth MLB pitcher in history to reach three thousand strikeouts and the only one with two hundred wins and 150 saves.
The good news here is that pitcher Tom Glavine is back after being disabled for the first time in his MLB career with a hamstring problem.
Let’s hope they can get over this situation with no negative sequels.
