Rays beat Rangers 7-3

Yesterday the Rays were receiving the Rangers at Florida, and so Tampa Bay showed Texas why they are more dominating and an overall better team than the Rangers.

Texas fell 7-3 to the Rays and the responsible for Tampa Bay’s victory was Scott Kazmir, who ended up striking out 10 in seven innings, allowing just 3 hits from the Rangers.

The Rangers kept alive until the fifth, then it was all about the Rays and Kazmir, who ended up throwing 95 pitches, 69 which were strikes.

This was the first time Rays fans saw Josh Hamilton back in the Tropicana Field since he was taken by Tampa Bay as the number one pick for the 1999 MLB draft; back in those days Hamilton was considered among those players that are future candidates for stardom, but his career got clouded by addictions to alcohol and cocaine, and so while playing for the Chicago Cubs, he left the game from 2003 to 2005.

And just when he got traded from Chicago to Cincinati, he started to show his real abilities and started to get considered as a real major leaguer but yesterday, in despite of the warm welcome from fans of his former team, he finished with some lousy numbers: 0-for-4.

And so it would be interesting to see this teams playing against each other soon and check if Hamilton is going to give a better show and if Kazmir would perform the way he did last night, but all in all, these two are the responsibles for yesterday’s game outcome.
