Ok, we have the first team to make it to the 2008 NBA Finals: The Lakers, who, without a doubt, were the dominant force in their series against the Spurs.
Yesterday’s victory from the Lakers let the series 4-1 and now they are waiting for the outcome of Pistons-Celtics, that is 3-2 with the Celtics leading.
The final score was 100-92 with Kobe Bryant leading the scoring board for Los Angeles with 39 points, 17 of those in the fourth quarter, while the Spurs offensive wasn’t even near to the one showed at the first stages of the playoffs. A clear example of that is Manu Ginobili, who threw for only 9 points, much different than his 25 points average per game on the post season.
There is no doubt that Kobe Bryant has being a clear leader for the Lakers all along the season, and has being escential to Los Angeles when they need it him the most, since he has come up with more than 2 quarters of his team’s total points lots of times and have saved the day with his incredible way of accesing the rival area, that is why he was the clear favorite for the MVP this year.
But no matter who wins the Eastern conference title, The Pistons and the Celtics are powers to be recon at this playoffs, with the Celtics as clear favorites to compete for the title.
So tonight’s game at the Palace of Auburn Hills will decide who will meet Los Angeles and go for the title, but I have to admit that the Celtics has had a hard time coming up with road wins, and the Pistons are ready to deffend their court, so if Boston beats Detroit on game 6, it will be a true achievement.
