Paul Pierce had the chance to put thing even yesterday at the fourth quarter playing in LA, but a steal from Kobe Bryant prevented the Celtics from obtaining their 17th NBA championship in history.
Things were 97-95 when Boston had the possesion, Pierce was advancing to shooting area when Bryant saw the ball a little exposed and tapped it from Pierce’s hands, inmediately Lamar Odom took the ball and threw it to Kobe Bryant who ran to the Celtics ring and slam dunked to sink the posibilities of the Celtics to celebrate.
Now the series is going back to Boston and chances are that the Celtics are going to win the title, why? Well it’s simple, the Lakers were a regular team playing at home, and they know that the Celts are probably the most dominant team playing at the TD Banknorth Garden, and so they are forced to find ways of playing better and level the series at 3 even, but most likely it’s not going to happen.
Actually the Lakers are the first team in NBA history to find a way out of a 3-1 deficit in NBA Finals, which is quite an achievement, but the Celtics also had a glorious moment on game four, when they fought back a 24-point deficit and won that game 97-91 for the biggest comeback in NBA history.
So this truly has being the kind of finals everybody was expecting, pure good old basketball between the biggest rivals this league has ever had, and now it seems like they both are back and for good.
