Rosevelt Colvin is a great linebacker, but the Patriots are looking for new blood and Colvin is a veteran, he was relesed by the Pats on February when he became a free agent, and the Texans acquired him on June 16, 2008.
Since the Texans have deffensive end Mario Williams, the top overall pick of 2006, they need a player with a few tricks under his arm in order to complement William’s game, and that guy is Colvin.
The details of the deal were not disclosed but it’s being said that the 30 year old Colvin will stay with the Texans for a few years.
Rosevelt Colvin was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the fourth round of the 1999 NFL Draft and spend a few years with them, then he joined the Patriots in 2003 and got two Super Bowl rings.
He missed the last five games of last season and the playoffs due to a foot injury. Colvin says that he’s healthy and ready to help the Texans to come up with a good season, as his new team have being disastrous on their 5 seasons at the NFL. Hopefully “rosey” will do a good job.
