Usain Bolt just achieved what no other runner had done since Carl Lewis in 1984: he won the gold in 100-meters and 200-meters at the same Olympic meetings, being just the 9th runner in Olympic history to do so.
Bolt is from Jamaica, a country that enjoys a history of skilled runners, the best example comes in the number of these athletes sent to Beijing by the island: 51.
Back in May, Usain Bolt broke the 100 meter world record at 9.72 seconds and is coming home with two medals that are as important in Jamaica as the gold medal in basketball is for the USA.
Bolt was asked if he consider himself the best sprinter in the world, to what he responded: “I don’t need to answer that. You guys know that answer. I am the best. I just proved it at the Olympics.”
