Favre might not play at Jets last pre-season game

Brett Favre started his Jets-era with a pre-season (second pre-season game for NY) loss to the Redskins and 5 of 6 passes completed on that game, then on Saturday’s victory for the Jets over the Giants, he completed 9 of 12 passes and head coach Eric Mangini believes is time for Favre to have a rest on their last pre-season game against the Eagles on Thursday.

It’s a fact that most NFL coaches doesn’t play their starting quarterbacks on the final pre-season game, but Brett Favre has managed to get playing time on those games in the past, and now it might be no exception, as Mangini is offering Favre 5 or 6 plays, but the Jet’s head coach is open to discussion, “I always listen to the players” he said.

And he surely should not be concerned with Favre’s first regular season game performance, as the veteran and former Packers quarterback has had 253 consecutive successful starts.

Watch NY at Philly on Thursday at 6 pm to see what happens…
