MLB playoffs

Now that we are at the MLB playoffs 2008, here’s a brief explanation on how they work.

The post season starts after the 162 regular season game, which is typically in the first week of October.

8 teams make it to the playoffs, four from the National and four from the American league, which are 3 divisional champions and a single wild card (this is the team with the best record but that didn’t won a division).

This year, these are the teams whom made it:

National League:

Cubs vs. Dodgers

Phillies vs. Brewers

American League:

Angels vs. Red Sox

Rays vs. White Sox

At each league, the winner of each series of the best-of-seven will play the other for the Conference championship and a ticket to the World Series.

Chicago fans are waiting the Cubs and the White Sox to play that very last game; it would be the first time since 1906.
